The Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana will declare September 2021 as, "Guardians of the Children Month" and urge residents to learn more about the resources available to prevent child abuse in our community and support organizations like Guardians of the Children who continually advocate for the safety and health our children.
Children have the right to be protected from all forms of child abuse and neglect, and it is the responsibility of all of members in the community to protect its children from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
The Guardians of the Children, a 501c3 charitable organization, is made up of members that share a common goal, who as bikers enjoy the open road and ride to convey the message that its members stand as an organization prepared to protect the priceless resource that is our children.
The mission of the Guardians of the Children is to recognize and react to child abuse, and to educate the public to do the same; to serve as advocates for children, and to provide strength and stability to families in crisis; and be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen for courage, support and protection.
Since 2011, the Guardians of the Children - Wild West Chapter - has served Marana, and surrounding communities by working with children advocacy agencies, victim assistance groups, and local school districts to provide beneficial organizational resources to a child and family that lend support and help to protect that child. The vision of the Guardians is to improve the quality of life in the community, and to tip the scales against child abuse and neglect through an expanded presence in Marana by attending or hosting events that help provide educational resources to families in need.
The Guardians of the Children's ultimate desire is to be part of a community that would no longer require its services, and the Town of Marana expresses its appreciation and thanks to all of the Guardians of the Children -Wild West Chapter- volunteers for actively give of themselves to support and advocate for the children of Marana.
