Marana Police Department Implements Modified Report Taking Process During COVID-19 Pandemic

How to contact the Town of Marana:

  • Emergency phone calls: 911

  • General phone calls: 520-382-1999

For the safety and well-being of the community, the Marana Police Department will be implementing proactive precautionary measures and heightened social distancing procedures to slow the spread of the COVID-19. Police officers are frequently in contact with many community members and these changes are necessary to limit the potential of our personnel creating a higher risk to you and your families.

Effective immediately, the Marana Police Department will implement a modified report taking process to limit the amount of one-on-one interaction officers have with the public.  In most cases, officers will take a report via telephone instead of responding in person to gather information and conduct investigations.

This modification in our report taking process will not impact the department’s response to high-priority, emergency incidents.  A high-priority call for service is any situation where there is a crime in progress or the potential for an impact to public or personal safety.  Officers may be seen wearing protective mask and gloves when responding to these types of incidents.

The Marana Police Department requests that residents refrain from coming to the Police Department to conduct business.  Please call our non-emergency telephone number (520-382-2000) first and we will accommodate you in the safest manner possible.  If you have an emergency, please continue to call 9-1-1.  The Marana Police Department does not have any information regarding the presence of COVID-19 in the community besides what has been communicated publicly by the Pima County Health Department, but seeks to take health and safety precautions based on the guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure the safety of our community.
