In honor of Dave Bowen’s last public meeting as a Town Council Member, Marana Town Council issued a proclamation honoring his years of service with the Town.
Council Member Dave Bowen was raised in the agricultural Midwest and graduated college in 1980 with a degree in education, and prior to coming to Marana in 1996, he lived in Ivory Coast, West Africa for eight years working as a government liaison and language teacher for a foreign missionary organization. Upon arriving in Marana, he changed careers and opened his own brokerage business, later earning the prestigious Certified Financial Planner designation in 2003.
Council Member Bowen was elected May 24, 2011, and served two terms on the Marana Town Council, ending November 3, 2020. He was instrumental in the formulation of the Town’s strategic plans, the 2040 Make Marana General Plan and in keeping the Town financially stable, and has great interest in ensuring Marana delivers high levels of service, public safety, transportation, utilities, and recreation for residents and visitors to the community.
Council Member Bowen has many interests within the Marana community including being a member of the Marana Chamber of Commerce, and has served as the past president of the Marana Rotary Club. While Council Member Bowen’s term may end on November 3, 2020, he and his wife Sherel, their children and grandchildren will remain very active in the Marana community in a servant leadership role.
