LEAVE OF ABSENCE INFORMATION

The Town of Marana provides employees with time away from work, both paid and unpaid. Employees should review Chapter 4: Employee Benefits in the Policies and Procedures Manual for more detail.

Human Resources is available to answer any questions an employee may have regarding the leave options outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. 

If an employee needs to be out of work for more than three days or for on-going treatment for themselves or a covered family member, they should contact HR to determine if this is a qualifying event covered by the Family Medical Leave Act. Details of this act are in Policy 4-7 for your review.

Disability- Coincides with a Leave Request for employee’s own serious health condition and/or Injury.

*Note: Employees must apply for disability benefits when their own serious health condition meets the disability criteria or they will not be eligible to use their accrual balances per Town policy.
