On September 29, 2024, the Marana Police Department was made aware of an incident involving off-duty Marana Police Officer Daniel Bonn that occurred in the parking lot of Whiskey Roads, located at 2290 W. Ina Rd. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department promptly responded to the scene and has taken over the criminal investigation into the matter. Reports of a second off-duty police officer involved were unfounded.

In line with standard procedures, Officer Bonn has been placed on administrative leave while both criminal and internal investigations are conducted. The internal investigation is being handled by the Marana Police Department’s Office of Professional Standards Unit, which is responsible for reviewing matters of professional conduct within the department.

The Marana Police Department takes any allegations involving its officers very seriously. We remain committed to transparency and accountability throughout this process. While the investigations are ongoing, we ask for the community’s patience and understanding. No further details will be available until both the criminal investigation and internal review are completed.

As always, the Marana Police Department remains dedicated to upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and trust with the community we serve.
