National Night Out 2024: Meet your Marana First Responders

MARANA- Come meet your local first responders at this year’s National Night Out!

The Marana Police Department will once again play in a friendly game of kickball against the Northwest Fire District.

The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.on Saturday, September 21st at Crossroads at Silverbell District Park located at 7548 N. Silverbell Road.

There will also be plenty of free activities and fun for the entire family!

The event will include emergency vehicle displays, a SWAT team display, kids activities, as well as food trucks on-site.

A free Marana in the Movies event will also be held near the kickball fields.

National Night Out 2024

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IS A COMMUNITY-BUILDING CAMPAIGN THAT PROMOTES POLICE-COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS AND LOCAL CAMARADERIE TO MAKE OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND COMMUNITIES SAFER AND MORE CARING PLACES TO LIVE.

National Night Out is also celebrating 40 years of the community-building campaign. It began in 1984, when the Justice Department awarded a Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) grant to establish National Night Out with the goal of helping foster relationships between communities and law enforcement.

Over the past 40 years, National Night Out has partnered with over 17,000 communities and has positively impacted the lives of over 38 million Americans. Most neighborhoods participate in the annual celebration on the first Tuesday of August. Read more here.
