MARANA- Senior Program members are using their crafting skills to make a difference in their community.
They’re been working on new pieces to sell at town events and in the Community Center to raise money for families and individuals in need this holiday season. It’s all part of the program known as “Crafting for a Cause.”
Crafting for a Cause was founded back in 2016 by Town of Marana Recreation Programmer Tammy Burchett.
Senior members prepare all year to sell their crafts at the Holiday Festival and Founder’s Day. You can also purchase a piece from the Community Center wall. The center is located at 13250 N Lon Adams Rd, Marana, AZ 85653.
Lead Senior Liason with the program, Vicky Crabtree, said this is an outlet for her to express herself while helping others.
“When I was making things, I didn’t have an outlet. This is an outlet now. It’s just therapeutic it is just to stand in there and create something, said Vicky Crabtree, Lead Senior Liason with Crafting for a Cause.
Crafting for a Cause is also accepting all crafting donations.
