Lock it or Lose it Marana

MARANA- You can avoid becoming a victim of theft and help the Marana Police Department prevent future vehicle break-ins in town by following these simple suggestions.

Practice T.L.C:

Take Your Valuables: Leave your valuables at home or take them with you. If you have to leave them in the vehicle, put them in your trunk. (Do not leave weapons including firearms in the vehicle)

Lock Your Vehicle: Make sure your vehicle is securely locked. Keyless or remote locking systems can malfunction from a low battery leaving your vehicle at risk. Check your remote locking and alarm activation devices’ batteries regularly. Also, take your garage door opener with you even if your vehicle is parked in the driveway.

Close Windows and Sun/Moon Roof: Windows and a sun/moon roof allow a thief a quick and quiet way to get into your vehicle. Make sure your windows are all rolled up and the sun/moon roof is closed before leaving your vehicle.

Marana Police also encourage you to park in well-lit and populated areas, use your garage when possible, use tire/wheel locks, engrave expensive accessories, and check your surroundings. Call 911 if you notice something suspicious.
