On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, the Marana Police Department held a ceremony recognizing the promotions of Lieutenant Joe Castillo and Detective Caylee Baker.
Lieutenant Joe Castillo
Joe began his career in law enforcement with the Tucson Police Department as a CSO in July 1996. He was hired by the Marana Police Department in August 2003. In October 2008, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Unit and served as a Detective for five years, then promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2013. As a sergeant, he was in charge of the Motor Unit and was recently assigned to the Counter Narcotics Alliance as the supervisor for the Asset Forfeiture Unit. On October 9, 2021 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Detective Caylee Baker
The Marana Police Department hired Caylee Baker in May 2016. She quickly learned the skills of a police officer, and in April of 2020, she was assigned to the Community Problems Unit identified as the Directed Action Response Team. She is actively involved in the Marana Police Department and is part of the Honor Guard program. She is also a Field Training Officer and General Instructor. On October 23, 2021 she was promoted to the Criminal Investigations Unit as a Detective.
