Town Attorney Jane Fairall has appointed Libby Shelton as Deputy Town Attorney at the Town of Marana effective December 5, 2020. She will fill the role previously held by Fairall, who has been appointed to Town Attorney.
Shelton has been employed as the Senior Assistant Town Attorney for the past five years serving as Town Prosecutor and providing legal advice to various Town departments. Prior to coming to Marana, Shelton was an Associate City Prosecutor for the City of Tucson for seven years, worked in private practice, and was a Deputy County Attorney at the Pima County Attorney’s Office. She has conducted trainings for the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Prosecuting Attorney’s Advisory Council, regional police departments, and the Tucson Fire Foundation. She currently serves as a Board Member for the MHC Healthcare Board of Directors.
Shelton graduated from the University of Arizona in 2000 with a double major in History and Political Science. She graduated from the University of Arizona Law School in 2004. She has two children, Derek, who is almost 13 and Clara who is 10. they like to cook, watch movies, and hike together.
