Motorists who use westbound Interstate 10 near Ruthrauff Road in Tucson should expect a major traffic switch overnight, Friday, Nov. 20. By the morning of Saturday, Nov. 21, westbound I-10 traffic will be adjacent to recently-moved eastbound traffic.
The westbound exit to westbound frontage road businesses and Sunset Road will be moved southeast of Ruthrauff Road until a new temporary ramp is constructed north of Ruthrauff Road.
To prepare for the shift, motorists should also expect the following restrictions:
Westbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane each night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. starting Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The westbound frontage road will be reduced to a single lane beginning Tuesday, Nov. 17, and continue through the traffic shift. Business access will be maintained using the right lane.
Eastbound I-10 will not be affected during this traffic shift.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
