TRAFFIC UPDATES
Hunter Contracting, under contract with the Town of Marana’s Department of Public Works, is scheduled to begin construction on the Twin Peaks Road, Rattlesnake Pass widening project. Construction is scheduled to take place from July 2024 through August 2026.
A portion of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop between Twin Peaks Road and Wade McLean Neighborhood Park will be temporarily closed due to construction work that is part of the Pima County Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station Project and loop improvements.
As part of the ongoing Marana Community and Aquatic Center project, beginning Monday, June 17th, 2024, through Sunday July 7th, 2024, Chasse Building Team will be performing structural steel work with a crane on North Marana Main Street between West Bill Gaudette Drive and the unnamed road to the south of Northwest Fire District Station #36.
The Town of Marana will begin construction on sidewalk access ramp upgrades between Cortaro Road and Twin Peaks Road on westbound Silverbell Road on June 10, 2024.
Borderland Construction, under contract with Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (PCRWRD), has completed seven miles of new 24-inch new dual force main sewer system between the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station (CRRPS) and the Tres Ríos Water Reclamation Facility (WRF).
Tucson Electric Power will be performing utility work along Twin Peaks from Saguaro Highlands Drive East to Silverbell Road and along Silverbell Road from Valhalla Drive North to past Twin Peaks Road beginning on May 28, 2024.
Lumen Technologies will be installing utility conduits at the intersections of West Twin Peaks Road and Saguaro Peaks Boulevard.
Canyon Building and Design and Eagle Rock Excavating LLC will be installing new fire hydrants along the northeast side of N. Rillito Village Trail at the intersections of Calmat Drive and Rillito Village Trail beginning Tuesday, May 28, 2024, through Friday, June 28, 2024.
Preparation work for final improvements on the Chuck Huckelberry Loop will begin on Monday, May 20, 2024 north of Cortaro Road.
The Town of Marana will be removing and replacing a section of the asphalt on Cortaro Road at the bridge and the Santa Cruz River for West and East bound lanes.
Southwest Gas will be installing a new gas main on W Linda Vista Boulevard south of W Twin Peaks Road beginning Wednesday, May 15, 2024, through Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Nightly lane restrictions along the east and westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Red Rock will begin on Monday, May 6, 2024 through Monday, May 13, 2024.
Tucson Electric Power will be installing utilities at the intersections of Silverbell Road and Silver Moon Way beginning Monday, May 6, through Tuesday, May 7. Work hours will be 7:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M.
Next Generation Electrical will be installing a traffic signal light pole for the Town of Marana. The installation will being the week of Monday, April 22, 2024 and work will continue through Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
The Town of Marana will be doing routine maintenance at the Orange Grove pump station starting April 22, 2024 through May 3, 2024. Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00am-3:00pm. Work will result in an Eastbound lane closure.
KE&G Construction, on behalf of Marana Water Department, will be repairing manhole collars on Moore Road between E I-10 Frontage Road and Clark Farms Boulevard beginning Friday, April 5, 2024, through Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Tucson Electric Power will be placing a transformer for the new traffic signal at the intersection of North Tangerine Farms Road and West Clark Farms Boulevard beginning today.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises drivers to plan for the following overnight on- and off-ramp closures on Interstate 10 near Marana, beginning Tuesday, March 26, while crews perform pavement improvements.
Work on the Silverbell Road median is now expected to be finished on Friday, March 22, 2024. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expect lane closures and traffic delays.
Southwest Gas will be performing utility work at the intersections of N Silverbell Road and W Twin Peaks Road beginning Monday, March 18, 2024, through Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Premier Builders will be installing waterlines on Saguaro Peaks Boulevard beginning Wednesday, March 6, 2024, through Friday, March 8, 2024. Work hours will be 6:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M.
The extension of Tangerine Farms Road will be open from West Charismatic Drive to Barnett Road on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Chasse Building Team will be removing asphalt, connecting to an existing gas main line, installing electrical conduit, and constructing a concrete crosswalk slab on West Bill Gaudette Drive between North Sandario Road and North Marana Main Street beginning Monday March 4th, 2024, through March 17th, 2024.
Lumen Technologies will be installing utility conduits at the intersections of West Twin Peaks Road and Saguaro Peaks Boulevard beginning Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 8:00 AM, through Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
Prepare for road closures as the Tucson Bicycle Classic will be hosting stage one of the race in Marana on Friday, February 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
MasTec, on behalf of Comcast, will be installing fiber optic cable north to south across W. Ina Rd. Work will be done Monday through Thursday between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM. Expect shadow trucks and lane closures as well as traffic delays. This is to expand bandwidth capabilities, improve existing Comcast service, and implement necessary infrastructure upgrades for future technology advancements.
Metro Water District will be replacing a fire hydrant on the corner of North Thornydale Road and West Nightflower Place. Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on February 14, 2024.

The Town of Marana will be repaving Lon Adams Road between Barnett and Grier Roads beginning on Monday, January 29, 2024.
UPDATE 6/21/2024: Extended flagging hours-of-operations will take place at the Avra Valley Bridge from Tuesday, June 25, to Friday, June 28, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
