Loop pathway between Twin Peaks Road and Wade McLean Neighborhood now open

MARANA- A new and improved portion of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop between Twin Peaks Road and Wade McLean Neighborhood Park is now open to the public!

This pathway opened ahead of scheduled before the 4th of July holiday.

The Loop improvements are part of a Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department project that impacts Marana residents.

According to PCRWRD, the work along this section of pathway – completed nearly a week early – is the result of a coordinated effort and recent IGA between PCRWRD, Pima County Flood Control District, Marana Parks and Recreation, and the Town of Marana Water and Water Reclamation Department (Marana Water) to established, relocate, and pave the remaining 0.7± miles of Loop path south of Twin Peaks Road, including new water harvesting basins and native tree plantings. Relocating the pathway slightly to the east of its current position has moved it out of the footprint of an upcoming Town of Marana water line replacement project and results in a grand total of 4.0± miles of new 16-foot-wide asphalt path, between Ina Road and El Rio Neighborhood Park area.

The final phase of enhancements is scheduled to be finished by mid-August 2024. Learn more here.
