MARANA- The Town of Marana is recognizing the second week of October as Fire Prevention Week.
Mayor Ed Honea has proclaimed October 8-14, 2023 as Fire Prevention Week throughout the Town and is urging residents to stay alert and do their part to prevent house fires.
The theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week is “Cooking Safety Starts with YOU. Pay Attention to Fire Prevention.”
The Town of Marana encourages all residents to check their kitchens for fire hazards, use safe cooking practices and support our public safety officials in their efforts to protect the community.
Two of every five home fires start in the kitchen with 31 percent of those fires a result of unattended cooking. First responders in Marana are committed to reducing the number of house fires and injuries through prevention, protection and education.
