MARANA- Town Manager Terry Rozema has appointed Public Works Deputy Director Fausto Burruel to Public Works Director effective September 10, 2022.
“I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to lead the Public Works Department,” says Burruel. “I appreciate the Town’s confidence in me and look forward to continuing working with a strong and diverse team.”
Burruel is also the Acting Town Engineer for the Town of Marana.
Fausto Burruel, P.E., MPA, MASCE holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, a Master of Public Administration, is a registered Professional Engineer (Civil) in Arizona, and has 14 years of supervisory experience. He has been the Public Works Deputy Director since 2018 and was the Town’s Traffic Engineering Division Manager prior to that role. Before joining the Town of Marana, Burruel served as the Traffic Section Chief for Pinal County and as the Engineering Project Manager for the City of Casa Grande. He brings 19 years of engineering, operations, project management, and maintenance management experience. Over the years, Burruel has been active in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is currently a Region 8 Governor, and is a Past President for the Arizona Section of ASCE.
“Fausto has worn many hats as of late and has done an exceedingly great job…Fausto’s reputation, work ethic, and team mindset made him an easy selection to fill the Public Works Director position,” said Town Manager Terry Rozema.
Rozema said they are working to recruit a Deputy Director and transition Burruel’s Town Engineering responsibilities to another position.
Burruel and his wife, Patricia, have been married for 22 years. They have a son and two daughters, Fausto, Marielena, and Elizandra. Burruel and his wife volunteer for extracurricular school activities with their youngest, Elizandra, who is a senior in high school this year. Their family enjoys traveling and experiencing the outdoors.
