MPD dispatcher retiring from the town

MARANA- The Town Council and Mayor have issued a proclamation recognizing Marana Police Dispatcher Patty Long-Spencer.

In the August 30th proclamation, Mayor Ed Honea and the Marana Town Council commend and thank Patty Long-Spencer for her long career in public service and her dedication to the community.

Spencer is retiring from the town after serving as a dispatcher for the Marana Police Department for more than 15 years. Spencer was first hired as a records clerk with the Town of Marana in April of 2002 and then later promoted to dispatcher on May 14, 2005.

Over the years, Spencer has received several awards including the Civilian of the Year award, the Citation of Excellence award and two Unit Citation awards.

Spencer credits many of her career accomplishments to her mother and her two children, Chad and Tyler, along with her granddaughters Ashleigh, Rylee and Maelie.

Spencer is now looking forward to traveling with her fiancé. Her retirement with the town is effective August 31, 2022.
