Star-Spangled Spectacular brings thousands to Marana

MARANA- Thousands of people came out to the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park over the weekend for the town’s Star-Spangled Spectacular event.

About 17,000 people filled the park and surrounding area to watch the firework show at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3rd with around 12,000 of those people in the immediate park.

There were a variety of activities in the park leading up to the big show, including a Community Car show with the Obsessions Car Club. Parks & Recreation staff hosted several games in the fields and participants were able to win a Star-Spangled Spectacular shirt. The event also included a bounce zone, water gun fights, picture booth, musical instrumental petting zoo with the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, and live performances from the Jesse Colt Band and the OnesALL band. The park’s splash pad was also open for kids to cool off.

Food trucks and market vendors were on-site throughout the park.

Marana Police Department and Northwest Fire District also took part to help keep people safe before, during, and after the event.

The Star-Spangled Spectacular wrapped up with a 27-minute firework show at Crossroads at Silverbell District Park.
