Portions of the I-10/Cortaro Road interchange to close tonight (May 25) for paving, striping

Starting the morning of Wednesday, May 26, the westbound Cortaro Road traffic lanes near the Interstate 10/Cortaro Road interchange in Marana will open in a new configuration.

The westbound Cortaro Road shared through-left movement under I-10 will be changed. Instead, drivers will notice two left-turn lanes and two through lanes. The new lane configuration will allow for improved traffic signal operations for the entire traffic interchange.

Portions of the interchange are scheduled to close tonight, Tuesday, May 25, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, for a second night of pavement and striping improvements.

During these hours, the I-10 exit ramps to Cortaro Road will close, and Cortaro Road will close to all traffic beneath I-10. To cross I-10, all motorists will need to use an alternate route such as Twin Peaks or Ina roads.

All westbound traffic on Cortaro Road will be directed to Hartman Lane, and eastbound traffic will be directed to the eastbound I-10 frontage road/on-ramp.

The paving and striping work is being coordinated with pavement preservation work being completed by the town of Marana.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
