Interim Town Manager Terry Rozema has appointed Stephen Dean as Interim Water Director at the Town of Marana, effective January 30. Dean will fill the role previously held by Scott Schladweiler, who has accepted a position at the City of Tucson.
Dean began working for the Town of Marana in September 2014 and has over 25 years of experience in potable and reclaimed water operations and maintenance and regulatory compliance. He has also served as Water Quality Administrator, Utilities Superintendent, and operator-in-responsible-charge at other southern Arizona entities. He is responsible for providing daily administrative oversight and support for the Marana Water Potable System, Water Reclamation System, its associated personnel, and in ensuring the regulatory compliance thereof.
“As Interim Water Director, I will strive to provide continuity in meeting the overarching goals and objectives of the town and water department,” said Dean.
