Steve Bejarano is retiring from the Town of Marana Police Department after having served in various positions since joining the department on June 20, 1998. After serving a total of 22 years with the Marana Police Department, Steve will retire on September 25, 2020, ending his career as an Operations Division Patrol Officer.

Steve began his career in law enforcement in 1990 as a Police Explorer with the City of South Tucson Police Department. In January 1993, he was hired as a 911 Dispatcher for South Tucson. Later, in December 1994, he was hired by the City of Nogales Police Department where he attended the Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA), and he remained with that agency until September 1996.

Steve later returned to the City of South Tucson Police Department in October 1996 as a Police Officer where he worked until June 1998. On June 20, 1998, Steve landed a position with the Town of Marana Police Department as a Police Officer, and began to quickly rise in his career. He served as a Field Training Officer and Police Explorer Instructor, was assigned to the Metropolitan Area Narcotic Trafficking Interdiction Squads (MANTIS), and served as a Sergeant from November 2002 to January 2015.

Although he has not yet decided how he plans to spend his retirement years, Steve has set the date of retirement on September 25, 2020, where he will likely spend his time with his children (Steven, Raeanna, and Nikolas Bejarano), as well as his many family members and friends.

The Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana commend and thank Steve Bejarano for his years of service to the Marana community and urge citizens join them in congratulating him on his retirement.
