National Night Out and the second annual Heroes Hoopfest was hosted at Crossroads at Silverbell District Park on Friday, October 4.
National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes Police-community partnerships as well as safety awareness for children, was a great success. Attendance ranged from 200-300 people. Fingerprints and photos were collected from 50 children who also received an ID card.
Marana Police Department and Northwest Fire District engaged in friendly competition with a game of basketball. Marana Police Department took home the win by 1 point with a score of 18:17. They'll get possession of the floating trophy until next year's competition. Congratulations Marana Police Department!
