Learn To Use Your Digital Camera for Better Photos

  • Marana Community Center 13250 North Lon Adams Road Marana, AZ, 85653 United States (map)

This class is designed for beginning and intermediate photographers to introduce them to the basic actions and presets that are available in today's digital cameras. We will begin with a review of: P-Automatic Exposure; AV-Aperture Priority; TV-Shutter Priority; and Exposure Compensation. Following this we will delve into how to use: White Balance; Light Metering; Drive Metering; Film Speed; Image Stabilization; and Focus Options, to capture the best pictures. Our goal is for the photographer to learn how best to apply each of these, while still maintaining artistic control of the process.

Today, digital cameras can cost anywhere from $400 to several thousand dollars just for the body alone. Then you have to add on the cost of one or more lenses. That can add up to a significant amount of money! If you're going to spend that much on these technical wonders, why not learn about, and take advantage of, all the built-in features that they offer? Be a partner with your camera in the creative process of photography!

Notes: All attendees are asked to bring a digital camera, read their Owner's Manual before attending, & bring it to class to make themselves comfortable with the terminology and availability of these features.
