National Public Works Week is observed each year during the third full week of May. National Public Works Week is a celebration of the tens of thousands of employees in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works.

American Public Works Association announced the theme, "Connecting the World Through Public Works", to highlight the way public works professionals connect the community physically (through infrastructure) and inspirationally (through service to their communities), whether as first responders or daily workers carrying out their duties with pride.

Public Works employees help keep our community strong by providing an infrastructure of services in transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, parks and grounds, emergency management and first response, and right-of-way management. They are what makes our community a great place to live and work. So join us in celebrating our Public Works Department employees!
