Amanda Jones accepted the award on behalf of Marana Water.
The Town of Marana received the 2019 WateReuse Arizona Project of the Year for the Marana Water Reclamation Facility Recharge Project (MWRP). Marana Water received the award last month at the 2019 Arizona WateReuse Symposium, held in Flagstaff.
The award goes to the project which demonstrated the "best use of treated effluent benefitting the community and environment."
The MWRP added to Marana’s water supply portfolio by using treated effluent as renewable water supplies to meet current and future needs of the community. Another benefit of the facility will be a future recreational park with wildlife habitat components providing a haven and destination to benefit humans and wildlife.
Marana Water was also involved in the 2018 WateReuse Arizona Project of the Year for their participation in the Arizona Pure Water Brew Challenge.
