Marana accepting applications to fill Town Council Vacancy

MARANA- Applications are now open to fill a vacancy on the Marana Town Council.
This comes after Jon Post was appointed as Mayor on January 7, 2025, following the passing of Mayor Ed Honea. The Town must now fill a vacant seat on the council.
If you are a current resident and are looking for an opportunity to get more involved in your community, this your chance to make a difference in the Town of Marana!
The appointed council member will serve for the remainder of Mayor Post’s unexpired term, which runs until the results of the Town’s next council election in 2026 are finalized.
To qualify for appointment, applicants must meet a few requirements under state law:
1. Be at least 18 years old.
2. Be a qualified elector residing within the Town of Marana.
3. Have lived in Marana for at least one year prior to the appointment.
Applications will be accepted until 12:00 Noon on February 10, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
Applications can be submitted digitally by filling out the online application located at maranaaz.gov/council.
