MARANA- The Town of Marana is pleased to announce the appointment of Teri Murphy as its newest council member. Councilmember Murphy was officially sworn in during a ceremony held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in the lobby of the Ed Honea Marana Municipal Complex, just prior to the start of a special council meeting.
Councilmember Murphy is no stranger to community, charity and events. Marana is not just my town, it’s my home. I’m eager to contribute to the positive growth and the exciting future that lies ahead for our residents.”
Her main passion is preserving the western lifestyle, and here in Marana, she does so by volunteering her time to the Marana Heritage Arena. In addition to her work at the arena, Councilmember Murphy has played an instrumental role in creating and developing key events such as the Marana Junior Rodeo Association and Marana’s Exceptional Rodeo for children with disabilities. Councilmember Murphy has also served on the MHC Healthcare Foundation Board, serves as an emcee at the Marana Fall Festival, and serves as the emcee for the Town’s Founders’ Day Parade.
Mayor Post looks forward to working with Councilmember Murphy, stating, “We are very lucky to have Councilmember Murphy on the Town Council. Her dedication to our community and leadership qualities will be invaluable to our council. I look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make.”
Councilmember Murphy has been appointed to fill the remainder of the term for the seat vacated by Jon Post upon his appointment as Mayor. She will serve until the 2026 council election results are finalized.
