MARANA- The Town of Marana Parks & Recreation Department has been awarded a Community Partner Commendation for its collaboration with the Northwest Fire District on a joint project.
Northwest Fire has worked with the Parks & Recreation Department on many projects over the years, but this award is in recognition of a compression-only CPR video and flyer that was shared with fields users as well as the general public.
The video is accessible through a QR code posted on signage at Town of Marana parks. The tutorial features NWFD personnel as well as Parks & Recreation employees guiding the viewer through the easy steps of compression only CPR.
"The goal is that more people will learn CPR and consequently, save a life," said Anne-Marie Braswell, Community Relations Manager with Northwest Fire District. "Brandon Laue and his team were easy to work with which made the project enjoyable to create. This unique and engaging project will save lives and is directly tied to our organizational mission."
“This project was a natural fit for our two agencies as we both focus on education and bettering our communities. In Parks and Recreation, we see the large number of individuals using our properties. With the professional expertise of Northwest Fire District, we wanted to create a video that was easy to follow along with and that could directly impact the lives of our community members," said Brandon Laue, Superintendent, Marana Aquatic and Recreation Center.
