Homicide Investigation-Arrest

5400 Block of West Mosquito Drive

29-Year-Old Man Charged with A.R.S 13-1105 First Degree Murder and A.R.S 13-2910 Cruelty to Animals

 

On Sunday, July 28th, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Marana Police responded to the 5400 block of W. Mosquito Drive reference a check welfare request. Marana Police received information that 29-year-old Taton Dorfman had contacted a third-party and stated he killed his girlfriend. Upon arrival, Officers attempted to make contact with Taton, who barricaded himself in the residence for several hours. The Pima County Regional SWAT Team was requested and responded. At approximately 3:30 a.m., Taton was taken into custody without incident. Officers located the victim, 30-year-old Hannah Rogers, and a canine, both deceased inside the residence.

Taton Dorfman was placed under arrest and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center for First Degree Murder and Cruelty to Animals. Next of Kin has been notified.
