MARANA- The Town of Marana has proclaimed the month of November 2024 as Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among men and women in the United States and Arizona.
According to a proclamation signed by Mayor Ed Honea, funding for lung cancer research lags far behind many other cancers and the Town of Marana recognizes the need for more research in lung cancer affecting women and lung cancer health disparities.
The Town urges all community members to learn about lung cancer and early detection through screening.
