MARANA- Dozens of friends, community members, family members and local leaders gathered in the Marana Council Chambers on Friday, November 1, 2024, for the inaugural Local Legends Celebration, recognizing the late Ora Mae Harn for her lifetime of service to the Town of Marana.

Ora Mae Harn (1932-2010) was Marana’s first female mayor and a beloved community advocate. During the Local Legends celebration, Mayor Ed Honea presented Harn’s children with a Town proclamation officially dedicating the month of November 2024 as a month of celebration in Harn's honor.

Guests were treated to a reception following the presentation, where they explored the “Interactive Heritage on Wheels” exhibit and viewed displays celebrating Marana’s history inside the lobby of the Marana Municipal Complex. The exhibit will be on display throughout the month of November.

This event was presented in collaboration with the Town of Marana, the Marana Visitors Information Center, and the Marana Heritage Conservancy.
