About the project

Phase 2 of the Tangerine Road Corridor Improvements will be constructed in two phases in order to address and accommodate planned development in the area.

The western two-and-a-half mile (Phase 2A) from I-10 through Tangerine Business Loop is slated to be constructed first. The start date is estimated for mid-2023. Meanwhile, Phase 2B is in design.

Design elements for Phase 2A include:

• Widening of Tangerine Road to a four-lane desert parkway with paved shoulders and a curbed median.
• Providing an all-weather roadway that conveys 100-year storm events under the railway through a combination of channels and culverts.
• Addition of a 12-foot-wide multi-use-path along the north side of the roadway.
• At Adonis Road, a signalized intersection and improved access will accommodate future development
• A frontage road south of Tangerine Road, providing improved access to Marana Tech Center's current and future business.
• Widening for capacity improvements and pedestrian/bicycle connectivity at the I-10/Tangerine Road Traffic Interchange.
