Marana Parks & Recreation wins four State awards

Marana - The Town of Marana Parks & Recreation Department is being recognized for its outstanding programs and staff members.
Marana Parks & Recreation recently received four "Best of the Best" Awards from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association. 22 total awards were given out during the APRA awards banquet on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 for the best programs, events and individuals from Parks & Recreation agencies around the state.
The banquet was held during the 73rd annual Arizona Parks & Recreation Conference in Glendale.
The Town of Marana's delegation of 15 attendees at the banquet included Councilmember John Officer and Town Manager Terry Rozema.
Marana Parks & Recreation won in the following four categories:
- Outstanding Partnership Award for the Loop Pathway Improvement Project (behind Amazon)- This award was accepted by Parks & Recreation Director Jim Conroy and Deputy Director Wayne Barnett
- Outstanding Cultural Program for Marana's Star-Spangled Spectacular- This award was accepted by Special Events Supervisor Shelby Scheer and Recreation Superintendent Bob Stinson
- Outstanding Active Adult Program for the Senior Program's Crafting for a Cause- This award was accepted by Senior Program Supervisor Olivia Salazar and Recreation Programmer Tammy Burchett
- Outstanding Park Professional to Kim Warner, Maintenance Associate III and Dynamic member of our Trails Crew

Marana Parks & Recreation is grateful and humbled to be recognized by colleagues around the state as a provider of outstanding programs.
