Loop pathway near Amazon facility to open Monday

Published on February 03, 2023

MARANA- A new portion of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop between Ina and Cortaro Roads will be open to the public on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Access to the new pathway will be open along the west side of the Santa Cruz River and it is out of the flood zone, providing the public a safer and more reliable walking and biking path.

This is the result of a Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation project to install new pipe from the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station in collaboration with the Amazon Distribution Center development. The new wastewater facility ties into a finished segment south of Ina Road.

According to Pima County (RWRD), the contractor has finished installing new bank protection along with relocating this latest portion of the Loop pathway near the Amazon facility north of Ina Road.

Pima County is expecting to complete another newly paved pathway to be installed from the El Rio Preserve to Cortaro Road by early 2024.
