Voter Information

Voter Registration, Vote Centers, and Active Early Voting List

The Pima County Recorder is responsible for voter registration records. To be qualified to register to vote and vote in Marana elections, you must:

  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Be 18 years of age or older on or before the date of the next regular general election following registration.
  • Have been a resident of the Town 29 days preceding the next election, except as provided in A.R.S. § 16-126.
  • Be able to write your name or make your mark, unless prohibited from doing so by physical disability.
  • Not have been convicted of treason or a felony unless your civil rights have been restored.
  • Not have been adjudicated incapacitated.

  • To register to vote, verify your voter registration, or update your current registration.
  • To request an early ballot for an election.
  • To request to be placed on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL).

Please note that voters may request an early mail ballot for a specific election, or they may request to be placed on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) and receive mail ballots for all elections they are qualified to vote in.

Registered Marana voters may vote at any Vote Center in Pima County for the Primary and General Elections. You can find more information about Vote Centers here.

Registered independent or party not designated voters are eligible to vote in Marana’s Primary Election. Registered independents or party not designated voters on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) must contact the Pima County Recorder’s Office to request a primary ballot. Independent voters must either request a partisan ballot or a non-partisan, municipal-only ballot. Independent or party not designated voters choosing to vote at the polls may request a ballot at their polling place. Selecting a partisan ballot for the primary election will not affect an independent voter’s registration status.

E-QUAL

The Town of Marana is using the Arizona Secretary of State’s E-QUAL system to allow potential Town Council candidates to collect nomination petition signatures online. Registered Marana voters may sign a nomination petition for only one candidate for each available seat. To sign an active nomination petition, please visit apps.azsos.gov/equal, select "Sign a Candidate Nominating Petition" and follow the onscreen instructions. A Note Regarding Town Council Candidates

Other than the official candidate filing documents received by the Town Clerk’s Office, the Town of Marana does not provide specific information regarding a candidate running for office or a candidate’s specific policy positions. Marana voters are encouraged to learn more about the candidates running for Town Council by reviewing their official filing documents posted to our Candidate Filing webpage and reaching out to individual candidate committees for additional information.
