Patrick Cavanaugh is serving his first term on the Town Council. He and his wife, Laurie, have lived in Marana for nearly six years, and he previously lived in Tucson for five years. He loves the great mountain and valley views, gorgeous sunsets, friendly neighbors, beautiful flora and fauna, expansive bike loop, and a great business community that includes excellent restaurants.
Cavanaugh volunteers for the Tucson Cactus & Succulent Society, rescuing many different species of cacti and succulents throughout sites in Pima County that are scheduled for development. The Society replants or sells rescued plants to the public.
In the early 1980s, Cavanaugh farmed jojoba and table grapes in Pinal County.
Semi-retired from a forty-year career as an agricultural journalist and radio broadcaster, Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
