MARANA COMMUNITY AWARDS
Every year, the Town of Marana awards distinguished residents and businesses for their service in the community. Award recipients will be invited to the annual State of the Town luncheon on March 28 to accept their awards.
*SUBMISSION WINDOW OPEN THROUGH MARCH 1, 2024*
Youth Legacy Award
The Marana Town Council created the Youth Legacy Award in order to acknowledge youth in the community who make Marana a better place for everyone. Recipients of this award benefit others in the community through acts supporting:
Heart: promoting a healthy and supportive environment for youth;
Body: Fulfilling essential needs such as food, shelter, and safety; or
Mind: Creating educational opportunities enriching young minds.
The person submitting the nomination cannot nominate himself/herself. Past award recipients are not eligible. The submissions may be awarded in memoriam.
BRANDING IRON AWARDS
Marana Branding Irons are awarded to those who have made a "mark" on the community.
Two Branding Irons will be awarded:
One in the Individual category (includes an individual resident or non-resident who works in Marana).
One in the Organization category (includes civic groups, non-profits, and private businesses)
The person submitting the nomination cannot nominate himself/herself. Past award recipients are not eligible. The submission may be awarded in memoriam.

Mayor Ed Honea presented this year’s Youth Legacy Award to Caity Stueck for making a significant impact through the power of coaching. This award recognizes individuals that promote a healthy and supportive environment for youth and create educational opportunities to enrich young minds. As a swim coach for the Marana Marlins, Caity has done that by serving as a role model for kids of all ages and teaching them discipline and the importance of swim.
The Branding Iron Awards honor members of the public for their service to the community.
This year during the State of the Town event, Mayor Ed Honea presented Branding Iron Awards to Don and Georgia Duncan as well as Dot Santy.
Marana resident Todd McGee was presented with the Marana Branding Iron Award at the 2022 State of the Town Luncheon on Thursday, April 14.
Every year, the Town of Marana invites members of the public to nominate someone for their impacts on the community for the Branding Iron Awards and the Marana Youth Legacy Award.
